9 weeks and counting!!

As I have said every week, I can't believe I would have a 9 week old!! C you are have been a great addition to your little family. You have been rolling over from tummy to back. You don't do it everyday, but I will come in from your nap and you have rolled to your tummy. You are sleeping through the night, but occasionally deciding you need to wake up at 4:00 AM. Our schedule is improving, but with momma going back to work it is going to get a little rough. Thankfully we may have found a good sitter for you. We are going to meet her on Friday and see what you think and what mommy and daddy think. This morning when you decided to wake at 4:15, when momma was changing your diaper, you started grabbing for your toes!!!! Of course mommy had to show your skills off to your daddy.

Happy Thanksgiving 2010

ah another week~~8 weeks

Well C you are going on 8 weeks!! Time continues to just fly by. You are starting to grab at thinks and continue to do more things with your hands. The last 2 days you have started entertaining yourself, by cooing and talking, its hilarious. Daddy says you actually scared yourself and then started laughing last night (mommy had gone to bed). You have also started entertaining yourself on your playard. You love to hit at the toys and hear them. C you are rolling over when I prop you up to try and let you reach for things. The first time after you realized you were on your back you were just smiling. Once I figure out how to get videos from my phone I will put it on here for you!! You are just growing so fast and have a mind of your own. I have been trying to work a schedule, but every time we start to get comfortable you decide to change it up. But today, when you got some good playtime in you napped great and will hopefully be awake and in a good mood to show off your new skills for daddy!!! C you are truly a blessing and a challenge!!!

Sleeping

Ah sweet success!!! Another 7 hours of straight sleep. C, you slept through the night! We spent the afternoon and evening at the Brenner's house, where we made grilled pizza and watch both the KC game and Steelers game. Aunt Retta got you to take a great nap, which was awesome, since you fought your naps all day Sunday. Mommy and Daddy then came home and gave you a bath. You played with daddy and then went to sleep. We didn't hear a peep until 5:00AM. We hope you continue this, especially since mommy has to go back to work soon. We also started you in your bumbo this weekend. You love it and we are so surprised at how well you did with it. You absolutely loved it. You could see and talk.

November 12, 2010 first time in your bumbo!!

time flies

So I am excited and sad all at the same time. I am just about done pumping!!! I am so happy to be done with hooking up to a machine, but sad to think I have been doing this for 7 weeks. These 7 weeks have been the hardest and most rewarding weeks of my 26 years. I have enough milk to get my little munch-kin to Christmas at least, depending how we use the milk. I have been considering mixing her evening bottle with formula. She is growing so fast, and eating 3.5-4 oz every feeding, but when I calculate what I have frozen we are good to keep this pace. She is sleeping better during her naps as well!!! Well as I am excited to be done, it just means my baby girl is growing and getting bigger.

going on 7 weeks

Well our baby girl is just growing like crazy and so alert!!! C loves to be around people. She always wants to be in the action. If we are with any company, she will fight her naps until the bitter end. But once she is asleep she is beginning to take longer naps. You are eating more and growing out of ALL your newborn clothes and diapers. The size 1 diaper are a little big, but the newborn diapers are too tight and you tend to poo right out the back or the leg holes (gross I know). You are smiling ALL the time, unless you are overly tired. You have two favorite past times so far, hanging out on your changing table with us and bath time. If you are really crabby and fussy, we just run a bath and you calm right down and typically fall asleep. You started laughing on Saturday, 11/6/10. Daddy was changing you and he was chatting away with you when you started just laughing at him. It was the cutest think. You are continuing to find mid-line and reach for things. Your grasp is great and when your eating you hold our fingers the whole time. C you are also so strong, you can hold your head at a 45 degree angle with no trouble on your tummy. You are tracking us all the time and you are developing a cry that says come get me, please and then you will give me the cutest sad face I have ever seen. You know I can't help but cuddle you when you send this look my way. C your pretty much the best thing that has ever happened to us. We love you so much and love learning all about your personality.

naps

So C is 6 weeks old!!! Hard to believe. This means I only have 6 more weeks to go on maternity leave!! Crazy and I can't imagine going back to work, even though I know millions and millions of moms go back to work everyday. We have a great babysitter lined up, but I'm sure she won't hold and play with C like I do. It just breaks my heart even if I have a long time before I actually have to deal with this.

But on to what I am dealing with now, we have a beautiful 6 week old. She sleeps great at night, but for some reason just doesn't want to take more than a catnap. I feel like I have tried everything. I swaddle her, I watch for her signs of being sleepy, I make sure she has a fresh diaper, etc, etc. But she still seems to fight almost every nap. I feel bad because then when daddy gets home, she is exhausted from being awake the MAJORITY of the day and goes to sleep early pretty much as soon as daddy gets his hands on her. He must be cozier than I am. I think if she would take a decent nap or 2 (more, but i don't want to ask too much) she would sleep through the night. We are getting a nice 5-6 hours, but its from 7:45 or 8:30 to 2 or 3 AM. Then she gets up about 5 or 6. Oh well, I will keep trying with the naps, especially because I am sure her babysitter is going to need some time without sweet C!!! So here is too miss C improving her naps!! Happy November!!

4 weeks tomorrow

Well where does the time go!!! It seems like yesterday, I had the day off and was 38 and 1/2 weeks pregnant and hoping to stay that way until my doctor got back to town! Little did I know, that I would be going into labor that very night. We are now just about 4 weeks into our sweet baby girls life and everyday is a learning experience and a challenge. An amazing challenge, I must add!!

C, you are starting to smile and definitely recognize your mommy and daddy. You have the best grandparents and family a girl could ask for too!

So here is a little recap as to week 3, well C, you were gagging occasionally on your bottles, so mommy decided to try a new bottle. HOLY MOLY what a bad idea!!!. You got so mad and then had trouble going back to your old bottle. Mommy was very stressed for about an hour, until she found a way to get you go suck on your bottle. Won't do that again. But today, you are drinking from your old bottles without trouble and haven't gagged once!!! We are so proud of you and you are growing like a weed, its so exciting and so sad all at the same time. Well happy one month birthday sweet girl!!! We love you and your beautiful smile, you make everyday special even when you don't want to let mommy take a short nap, because you don't want to nap!!!

Art and Craft time

So after looking at the price of the adorable bows and flower headbands for C, I decided I would try my hand at making them. I talked to a friend who does them and had her make me one and then I started the first step: I went shopping and got myself a hot glue gun and a few flowers. Then while C was napping today I tried my hand at this project. NOW, today I am only able to show off the flowers, because Michael's did not have the head bands for me to use and I need to go to Sally's beauty supply for the hair clips to clip on the the head bands. So here is are my first two flowers. This one may go with her Halloween Costume, but I'm not sure yet.

After I finish these, I will put up the finished product and show my next project. C's Halloween Costume!!! Maybe I can be some what crafty, time will tell!!

trying this again

So I think I am going to try my hand at blogging again!! A and I were blessed with our little munckin on 9/22/10. Corryn was 8 days early, she weighed in at a whooping 6 lbs 8.8 oz and was 19 inches long. She is absolutely beautiful. We did have a slightly rough start, but after figuring out the issue we got on our feet and are continuing to learn about her as she learns about us. I never thought I could love someone like I love miss Corryn. I can only hope to be the best mom I can be and live up to her little expectations. I have the best role models to learn from, A and I's parents have been amazing and so very supportive. I truly don't know how we would have made it this far without them.

Sunday, June 27, 2010

Hello again!!! Well we have had a crazy weekend to say the least. We started out with A playing 2 softball games, which is very common for us in the summer. But with it being so hot, I have not ventured out much. Since Father's Day, I just can't seem to cool down. I finally understand what my friends were telling me when they said pregnancy in the summer is not the coolest condition, oh well it is all worth it in the end right. Saturday we went to a good friend's wedding. Again I had to go to the back away from the crowd to cool down, yuck. But we had a great time, lots of old friends and family were there. Congrats Tracy and Chris!!!!

Nursery news: the nursery is coming along, A painted the doors. Why paint the doors you ask, well the people before us felt the need to paint the doors the same color as the room, so every room we repaint the doors must be included. We went with white to match the trim as opposed to the color of the room.

Week 26 news: I still feel great only complaint is the heat. I am soooooo very thankful that I have not been sick. I have multiple friends whoare also expecting. Our due dates seem to range from October1st to January 1st. Well I am considering posting some prego pics, but we will see.

Have a wonderful week!!

Wow i am not good at this

Well as you can see, I have not been keeping this up. But I plan to from now on, to keep our friends and family updated on our new addition. We have had a lot going on with work and getting ready for our little one. I still have 15 weeks to go, but so far time has flown by. We are not finding out what we are having and looking forward to the surprise. Currently we are working on redecorating for the nursery. I have decided to have the nursery in our old room, so this means we are moving bedrooms. So the nursery is on hold for a few more days until our room gets done and carpets are cleaned, then we will start the babies room, very exciting. Our crib and dresser are just waiting to be placed in their nursery homes. Thus far this pregnancy has been overall great. During the 1st trimester, I never would have thought about doing this for a 2nd time, but the 2nd trimester has totally changed my way of thinking. I am sure as I get into the 3rd this may change, but for now I really am enjoying feeling the munchkin grow and move. Overall my favorite thing is to feel it respond to A and I's voices, so awesome.

What else is going on??? WELL we are getting A a new car!! He test drove last night and we will find out this morning if they can get the car he wants. He wants a Volkswagen GTI, problem is there are not many of them and of course they want us to get ALL the options, which aren't needed for us. So we will know this morning. I have to say test driving is pretty fun, the negotiating is frustrating and annoying.

I am going to try and update this more often and maybe add some pictures.

Changes coming our way

Well it has been forever since we have posted... Oh well, we have some exciting news!! We are finally expecting our 1st baby October 1st!! So that puts us at 13 weeks. I have been feeling good, especially over the past week. The first trimester I could barely stay awake. I never got sick, but the nausea was not fun. Somedays I would wish that I would throw up and be done. But now that is behind us

2010

So again it has been forever since I have taken the time to post. But I figure if our life gets more exciting and we have more to share I will probably do better. 2009 was a fabulous year, A and I found ourselves with wonderful careers and wonderful families. We have made a lot of great friends, we have lost touch with some old friends and rekindled with others. We truly are blessed to have such a wonderful life. A and I are anxious for what is to come this year. We have a ski trip planned for sure and likely a nice beach vacation at the end of May. Both will be fun and relaxing.

Well this year, I have decided to of course make a list of resolutions. But I plan to make them attainable!!

  • Train for a 1/2 Marathon, I have the schedule. A and I have to pick which on we will run!
  • Be less judgmental and more accepting of others
  • less gossiping
  • improve our diets around our house, less dining out and more fruits and veggies are planned for this fine year
So this year, I do believe I can reach each of these, I actually started on Christmas Day and let me tell you I feel so much better!!! As soon as this crummy weather goes away I plan to get my butt outside and start doing some jogging!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
